The “water towns”around the city are traditional settlements built around canals, and incredibly photogenic.
As befits one of the world’s largest cities, there are plenty of accommodation options that we are currently investigating. We will provide all tournament participants with high-quality hotel accommodation and coach transfers to our debate venues, including the host school. For transport around the city, the Shanghai metro is cheap, safe and efficient; taxis are cheap and plentiful and can be booked via an English-language app.
Shanghai Pudong (PVG) is one of the world’s top ten busiest airports by passenger throughput each year. There are numerous direct flights to major cities throughout the world.
Most visitors to WIDPSC will be able to visit Shanghai on a tourist visa, which is usually fairly easy to obtain. We have extensive experience of the visa process and will provide support as required.
